Insurance Approval Wait time

My doctor is submitting the info/paperwork to my insurance company for approval.  Just wondering how long your approval process took.  I have BCBS PPO insurance.

I have UHC and they can take up to 14 business days to make their decision. Mine took 11 days. From what I've seen on the boards, BCBSNC seems to turn it around much more quickly though.

I'm looking forward to seeing you post when you hear that you've been approved.

From my exp w/ BCBS NC it's normally about a 24 - 48 hour turn around.

The lady at my surgeon's office said BCBS is usually fast about approval. I sure hope she is right. That is what I have too. Good luck. Beth

I have BCBSNC. I heard from the surgeons office 7 days after they submitted the paperwork. It was pretty quick. Good Luck.                                                Tiffany

I have BCBS PPO.. I submitted in Jan of 06.. they took 30 days for their first denial. My approval process took 4 months in total.

Hey Mommy 2 Three (make that 2 of us!!) I am with MedCost...it took about 10 days.    However, I found out that MedCost had some confusion on their end.   When I got involved and spoke with the nurse at insurance and helped her get in contact with Duke...it was the next day that I was approved.    They were great with me!!
